SORT THE DIFFERENT COLOR EGGS AND PUT THEM INTO THEIR OWN COLOR GROUPS (THERE SHOULD BE 6 GROUPS)
1. Each day, have your child choose one of the color eggs. One day you can go around your home OR, you can use a picture book if that’s easier, and have your child find things that are the same color as the egg they selected for that day. Every time they find something, have them make a checkmark on a piece of paper. Do this for about 10 minutes. When time is up, sit down with your child and have your child count up all the check marks on the paper.
2. Another day, the color selection your child makes can be related to things we eat. For instance, perhaps they selected the color red. You might ask your child to name foods that are red. If they don’t know, you can help. It’s a great way to get your child talking!
3. Another day the color selection can be based on things they see in nature or animals, bugs, etc. You might even let your child suggest what they might like to look for in the color they selected for that day.
DON’T FORGET TO HAVE YOUR CHILD MAKE CHECK MARKS EACH DAY FOR THE COLORS FOUND AND DON’T FORGET TO LET THEM COUNT ALL THE CHECK MARKS EACH TIME!
