Description
OTHER ACTIVITIES
• Have a treasure hunt in your house. Hide a special something somewhere in your house. It could be a stuffed animal, a favorite book, a prize, etc. Don’t make it too small and let your child know what he/she is looking for. Keep the treasure hunt contained to only one or two rooms depending on your child’s age. Once your child is in the room, give them their first clue, guiding them to the object. If they’re reading, you can give them written clues, guiding them to the object one clue at a time. If they are not reading, the clues can be verbal, for instance, you’re getting warmer, colder, go closer to the green chair, etc. Until they find the item.
• Give your child a chance to hide an object and let them guide you to the item. Give them a chance to practice giving directions and having those directions understood.
